What is Cariqa?

Cariqa is the direct payment infrastructure for EV charging. Cariqa enables charge point operators and the platforms drivers use to transact directly, with operators retaining commercial control of pricing, and driver payments flowing directly to them.

How is Cariqa different from an eMSP/reseller?

eMSPs typically sit inside the value chain as resellers, between the charge point operator and driver. They buy access to chargers from operators and sell it to drivers, taking a margin on every transaction. Cariqa instead sits underneath the value chain as payment infrastructure, enabling operators to bypass the reseller layer and transact directly with drivers. Operators set their own prices, drivers pay those prices, and payment flows to the operator without a reseller margin deducted.

Who does Cariqa work with?

Cariqa works with both sides of EV charging. On the supply side, it works with charge point operators of all sizes, including Pfalzwerke, EWE Go, Qwello, enercity, Mer, TEAG Mobil, and CITYWATT. On the demand side, the company works with navigation apps, OEMs, routing platforms, fleet software, and mobility products including Eco-Movement, A Better Routeplanner, and Chargeprice.

Who sets the charging price?

The charge point operator sets the price. Cariqa's infrastructure carries that price through to the driver unchanged, with no reseller markup or hidden fees added. Drivers can pay that price through whichever interface they use: the operator's own app, the Cariqa app, or through Cariqa Connect partners such as A Better Routeplanner and Chargeprice.

What does the money flow look like?

Drivers always pay the operator-set price directly. Cariqa processes the payment and handles fiscalisation, VAT, and invoicing before passing the revenue to the operator. For sessions completed through demand-side platforms such as apps, OEMs, or mapping providers, the operator still receives payment directly, and the demand partner earns a revenue share on every operator partner transaction.

Cariqa Connect is totally free to integrate, and demand partners earn a revenue share on every operator partner charging transaction completed through their product, with Cariqa handling payments, billing, VAT, compliance, and CPO management underneath.
